The way points of this running / walking route:

Start.

If you arrive here by bus - Kintetsu Bus from J.R.Suminodo - you have to cross the road via a walkway.You will see the track opposite.

Junction/Caution.

The road,for the next 2-km,is very busy with trucks.

Information.

Say goodbye to the town,and say hello to the country. The next 3km is a gradual ascent.

Junction.

When you exit through the gate,you cross the road.Be careful of traffic.From here follow the footpath.

Junction.

You take the track on your left and commence your descent.

Information.

For the next 3km you pass through some forested area.

Junction.

Keep to the right and follow the track.

Horin-ji temple.

This is an awesome complex,nestled in amongst the rocks.Take the time to wander through.

You are about to enter a residential area.

Information.

Just follow the land to Hozan-ji temple.

Information.

This is a great view looking up towards the Torii and lanterns on each side of the steps.

Torii,gateway to Horin-ji Temple and Shrine.

From here allow yourself an hour-or-more to wander through the complex.

If you are going to Ikoma Station,continue down the steps.There are a lot of steps so be careful.

Kintetsu Ikona-eki (station) and Finish.

If you are catching a train,regardless of where you are going,pay special attention to what train you catch.The wrong train and you will end-up going in the very-wrong direction.
