The way points of this running / walking route:
Head left at Heatherdale Road
Head right to Eastlink trail
Head left towards ringwood down Eastlink trail
Take under roads path
Cross road and continue on trail
Get off trail and follow Quarry road to the right back towards Mitcham
Keep on the road until roundabout
Continue down Casella St towards Burnett St
Turn left until first right at Cook Road
Turn right down Cook Road and walk until Whitehorse Rd
Cross Whitehorse at lights and continue down Cochrane
Left on Orient until Scott on right
Right onto Scott and walk until Canterbury Road
Left down Canterbury until pedestrian lights outside Vermont shops
Cross Canterbury Road and walk towards Heatherdale Road
Continue back to Carol's house (Centre Road then Rohan St @ roundabout)
That's it - about 2 hours walking
