This is a cue sheet for the Kyotanabeonesugi Hiking Course. Running / Walking Route. You can print it out for later use.

0km 0km Tenno. This is the start/finish of the "Kyotanabeonesugi Hiking Course. To get to this point, I suggest you come via bus. Number 75-bus leaves J.R. Nagao station bound for Hotani, where you catch bus-78 for Tenno. NNE 11° 0m
0.5km 0.5km Viewpoint. From this point you get your first view of the countryside and a course you will be walking on in the following few kilometers. ENE 62° 0m
1.1km 0.6km Jyouyaku-jinja. You may spot the torii, on your left here. Take the time to check-out the shrine. NNW 323° 0m
1.2km 0.1km Jyouyaku-jinja. It's not much of a shrine, but a nice detour through the bush. NNE 0m
1.5km 0.2km Caution. Route-65, the road you are about to enter, can be very-busy, especially with trucks. Take caution. S 168° 0m
1.7km 0.2km Map. You will notice the noticeboard, with a map carved on it (the same as there was at the start). Check it out to see your present situation. WSW 246° 0m
1.8km 0.1km Alternative route. Although the track isn't part of the course, I suggest you take it, as it gets you off the road. NNW 347° 0m
2.3km 0.5km Route information. Use your imagination here. You will see a track between the rice fields, that will take you to the road. S 161° 0m
2.6km 0.3km Photo opportunity. From this point you will get a good view of the surrounding countryside. SW 208° 0m
3.2km 0.6km Route directions. There is a small arrowed-sign on the left of the road. Take it up the hill. From here, to when you exit the bush, the track is well marked with arrowed-signs and red-ribbons tied to trees. It is a bit of a climb to begin with, but, after about 5-minutes, you will reach a plateau. S 169° 0m
4.2km 1km Route information. At this point you pass under a tall red pylon. You will get glimpses of the pylon as you navigate the course. SSW 200° 0m
4.4km 0.2km Route information. There is another arrowed-sign here. Take care as you enter the road. Your course continues on the opposite side of the road and follows a narrow lane beside a tin fence. NNW 330° 0m
5km 0.6km Photo opportunity. This is a great vantage point to take a photo of the surrounding area. You will see the red pylon in the distance. NNW 335° 0m
5.1km 0.1km Stone monuments. You will see two stone monuments on the right of the track. from this point you are able, on a clear day, see Nara Park. ESE 94° 0m
5.3km 0.2km Route information. There is another arrowed-sign here. Also be careful as you enter the road. NNW 318° 0m
5.4km 0.2km Course detour. Welcome to Takafune. A wee detour to a couple of complexes that will impress you. NNW 350° 0m
5.7km 0.3km Gokuraku-ji Temple. Small, but very beautiful. In Autumn the colours are awesome. S 159° 0m
5.7km 0.1km Ishifune-jinja. This is an old shrine (I am not sure of it's date) but very peaceful. ESE 92° 0m
5.8km 0km Directions. There is an obscure track, leading off another track, that will bring you back to the road. SW 212° 0m
5.9km 0.2km Course directions. Back onto the course again. There is another arrowed signpost directing you. W 248° 0m
6.2km 0.3km Course directions. You will see another arrowed sign on your left, directing you to your right. The track is well marked, but, due to the dense bush, kep an eye out for other markers. NE 38° 0m
6.5km 0.3km Monument. There is a rock monument here, you are not far from your next destination. ENE 56° 0m
6.6km 0.1km Course directions. As you exit the bush, you will come-across this building. Take note of the Buddha Statue, to the rear of the building. E 84° 0m
6.7km 0.1km Kasagami-jinja. This is an ideal place to break for a rest and bite-to-eat. NE 30° 0m
6.7km 0.1km Caution. As you descend the steps, you rejoin the road. Be aware of any traffic. NNW 316° 0m
6.8km 0.1km Junction. The track at this point can be a bit obscure. NNW 316° 0m
7.1km 0.3km Photo opportunity. As you exit the bush, the next few-hundred meters will give you great views of the Japanese countryside, especially the rice fields. NNW 347° 0m
7.6km 0.5km Junction. You take the right branch, at this point. The track becomes obscure and dense. But it is well marked. NNE 16° 0m
7.8km 0.2km Data. You are standing on the borders of three prefectures - Osaka-fu, Kyoto-fu and Nara-ken. SSE 141° 0m
7.8km 0km Course information. There is another arrowed sign here. NE 43° 0m
8.1km 0.3km Junction. You take the left branch at this junction. Take note of the two small statuettes. NE 45° 0m
8.3km 0.2km Junction. Turn right here. ESE 96° 0m
8.7km 0.4km Shuchi-jinja. Don't be in a rush to experience this complex. It is awesome. WSW 229° 0m
8.8km 0.2km Course directions. After exiting the shrine complex, continue beneath the Torii and go straight ahead. S 171° 0m
8.9km 0.1km Photo opportunity. There are some lovely scenery from here. SE 131° 0m
9km 0.1km Junction. Turn left here. If you have the time, take a wander through the village. E 72° 0m
9.4km 0.4km Junction. Be careful here of any traffic. At this point you can see your bus stop and the completion of the course. S 173° 0m
